Forums: Boris Vujčić, Ravi Chaudhry and Esteban Brenes
This part of the year ended with three interesting events, where participants of various COTRUGLI programs, as well as other proactive entrepreneurs and managers were present.
End of June was resaved for COTRUGLI Forum with Mr. Boris Vujčić, Deputy Governor of Croatian National Bank and assistant to Croatia's chief EU accession negotiator. Forum’s topic “Anti-cyclical monetary policy within Eurozone” initiated vivid discussion. Participants were correlating basics of monetary policy with current situation in Croatian economy. Interesting fact is that the dialogue took place few days before significant governmental changes in Croatia.

Next Forum was delivered by Mr. Ravi Chaudhry, consultant in the field of sustainable development and competitiveness at International Business Strategy, advisor to numerous CEOs, managing boards and state officials. Forum’s main topic “India’s Role in the New World Order – What European Businessmen need to know” fully justified its subtitle “CEO Dialog”. Mr. Chaudhry delivered short lecture and initiated long-lasting discussion among the participants.

According to his estimation, current crisis will cause significant GDP decrease in Russia, Japan and Germany, while GDP growth (up to 7 %) is expected to occur in China and India. Despite its diversity that can make business operations in India more complicated (for illustration, Indian rupee bill contains signs in 17 different languages), predictions about GDP growth represent huge investment potential. Based on current indicators, industry sectors with biggest investment potential are IT, electronics, automobile, pharmaceutical and textile industry, Bollywood, tourism, ayurveda and yoga, agriculture etc. While deciding on potential cooperation each person should take into account relevant factors such as market size and cultural differences (especially ones related to ambitiousness).

COTRUGLI Business School also hosted the Forum ˝Strategies under challenging times˝ at Technology Park Ljubljana. The Forum was delivered by the entrepreneurship and strategy guru, Prof. Esteban Brenes (INCAE / Harvard, COTRUGLI E/MBA). The importance of a right strategy in companies was highlighted through a colorful real-life examples and cases. COTRUGLI MBA participants and the Slovenian managers used this event for additional international networking.
