Cotrugli history
Cotrugli Business School was founded after a long lasting preparation process and significant support from World Business Academy (WBA). Cotrugli's progressive and innovative program was designed by an international team of business experts. It has received numerous compliments from world's respected experts and institutions, which has enabled Cotrugli to cooperate with the leading entities in the field of business education.
This is the reason why Cotrugli's faculty consists of consultants and lecturers from eminent business schools like ESCP-EAP, Kellogg, Harvard, MIT, INCAE, XIME etc.
Except in Executive MBA program, Cotrugli is specialized in delivering Open programs and customized In House programs. In addition, Cotrugli has recently become an exclusive regional provider for Balanced Scorecard, the leading system for implementation of business strategy. Collaboration with world's leading experts and more than a thousand of satisfied clients has greatly contributed to the affirmation of Cotrugli as the leading business school in Croatia and the fastest growing business school in the region.
To highlight our understanding of the importance of innovation in today’s changing world but keep the traditional values, our school is named after a man who was writing on this subject over 500 years ago.
Benedetto Cotrugli was born in Dubrovnik, Croatia in 1416. He was a merchant by profession, a humanist by education, a scientist by vocation and a diplomat by invitation. His book, The Art of Trade, written in 1458, is credited with being the first to describe the principles and methods of Double Entry Bookkeeping. More important for our story, he also described principles of personal development and the importance of ethics in business.Principles which remain very much alive today.
